On television and in the cinema, Christians are often represented as bigots, narrow-minded, racist and intolerant, even as rapists or assassins. As for the Catholic clergy, it is most often depicted as a landmark of sadists.
Movies containing here or there an anti-Christian charge are counted by tens, and the list is complemented by several films each year.
We must therefore admit that Christianity - and in particular the Catholic Church - is attacked in cinema as neither Islam nor Judaism nor any other community in the world.
For some decades, messages have become more and more explicit and aggressive, as if the weakening of Christianity in the West excited a vengeful hatred for too long.
